

Hester was born on February 24, 1936, in Piermont, NY to the late George and Hester (Redner) Lillman. She was raised in Paterson, NJ, and lived in Nyack, NY for many years before settling in Sussex County 20 years ago.
Hester retired from Birmingham Sound Reproducer Company in Nyack, NY, concluding a long working life marked by steadiness, dedication, and pride in a job well done.
Above all, Hester will be remembered as a deeply involved grandmother whose care was expressed in the simple, lasting gifts of time and attention. She taught her grandchildren how to ride bikes and swim, went out to play with them in the snow, and took them to the park—creating everyday moments that became cherished memories and a legacy of love.
Hester is survived by her children, Joan Howard and her husband, Carl, David Conklin and his wife, Lisa, Mabel Davison and her husband, John, William Conklin and his wife, April and James Conklin; her grandchildren, Carl, Patrick, Amanda, David, Michael, Kevin, William, Alexis, Tyler and Jessica; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and her siblings, Sunny Lillman, Walter Lillman, Gloria Kubisky and Joan Barney. Along with her parents, Hester was predeceased by her husband, William Conklin, her granddaughter, Laura and 6 siblings.
A celebration of life will be held in late September. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
