Born in Andover Township, Irene was a longtime resident of Sussex County before moving to Pike County in 2004. She was a homemaker and spent most of her life raising children. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Irene was a former member of the Red Hat Society and a former member of the Andover Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
The daughter of the late Charles Nathan and Laura May (Hendershot) Sipley, Irene was also predeceased by her husband, Darrel Dickerson on September 26, 2008; her two daughters, Sharon and Diane Dickerson; her four sisters, Fannie Luchetti, Patricia Sliker, Audrey and Shirley Sipley; and her three brothers, Charles (Bubby), Earl and Gerald Sipley. She is survived by her four daughters, Betty Cummins and husband, Barrett, of Newton, Cathy McClain of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, Cindy Falotico and husband, Joseph, of Stillwater Township, Laura Hanley and husband, Martin, of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania; her two sons, Darrel Dickerson and wife, Debbie, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and Edward Dickerson of Branchville. She is also survived by her three brothers, Robert Sipley and wife Betty, of Andover Township, Vincent Sipley and wife, Donna, of Belvedere and Richard Sipley of Newton; her sister, Nellie Kinney and husband, Glen, of Andover Township; her sister-in-law, Muriel Erickson of Tampa, Florida; her fourteen grandchildren; and her twelve great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Frankford Plains Cemetery.
