Irene was the best mom to Zachary and Denise Thorne, Vanessa and Jim Walsh, Crystal Bailey, and to everyone who needed a mom’s love. She was Gam Gam and Gammy to Sarah, Zoë, Sam, and Sydney. She loved them with her whole heart and was amazed by them every day. She was Miss Irene to hundreds of students who she taught to believe in themselves and see themselves as dancers
Irene genuinely loved life and being around people. She always had a smile, a kiss and a hug, and the ability to make everyone feel welcome and safe. She was happiest on the beach in the sunshine with a breeze off the ocean and people who she loved.
Please honor her memory by being kind, singing out loud, dancing to the music, and being your authentic self.
