Karen was a petite woman with a big heart, bright smile, and a contagious laugh that brought warmth to those around her. She was friendly and trusting by nature, and had a special way of connecting with others and finding comfort in the familiar faces and routines of her daily life.
Karen found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved working on puzzles, circling items of interest in the weekly shopping circulars, singing, dancing, and spending time with people she adored. These everyday activities and cherished relationships brought comfort, companionship, and happiness to her life.
Karen was a part of SCARC’s Family of Services for 46 years. As she grew older, she faced health challenges, which made each day different and brought an increased need for care, patience, and support. Through these changes, those who cared for Karen continued to provide guidance, reassurance, and companionship, helping her navigate her daily experiences with dignity and kindness. Karen’s preferences and personality remained an important part of who she was. She continued to prove to those around her that she was not going to give up despite any challenges she faced.
Karen’s life reminds us of the importance of patience, understanding, laughter, and companionship. Her bright smile, memorable laugh, unique personality, and affection for those closest to her will remain meaningful to the people who shared in her life.
Karen will be remembered with fondness for the simple joys she found throughout life, the bonds she formed with those around her, and the special qualities that made her uniquely herself.
