Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late LeRoy E. “Pete” and Melba (Wyatt) Post, Bob grew up in Lafayette, NJ most of his life before moving to Greenwood, Delaware in 2010. Bob worked on the family dairy farm on Beaver Run Road, Lafayette, NJ from the age of five. He also worked for Plastoid Corporation, Hamburg, NJ for several years before joining the Sussex County Road Department in 1965, where he retired as County Superintendent of Roads in 2001 after 36 years of service.
Bob was a member of the Lafayette Township Fire Dept., serving as Chief from 1978 to 1979. He was also a member of the New Jersey State Exempt Firemen’s Association, the Branchville American Legion and the Kittatinny Masonic Lodge.
In his spare time Bob loved gardening, bowling, listening to the “Oldies” and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was also predeceased by his brother, Albert W. Post. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Judith (Block) Post; his daughters, Bobbie-Jo Corey of Greenwood, DE and Audrey Sue Post of Harrington, DE; and his grandchildren, Hunter M. Corey, Alexis M. Corey and Matthew R. Post.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ, with a Masonic Service at 6:30 pm and a Firemen’s Service at 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the funeral home; interment will follow in North Hardyston Cemetery, North Church Rd, Hamburg, NJ.
