Lenny was born in Newton, New Jersey to the late Frank and May (Staley) Ferrari. He was the owner and operator of Ferrari Trucking since 1985.
Lenny had great love for his country and his community. He was a National Guard Veteran and a member of several organizations such as a Life Member of Green Township Fire Department, Sussex County Firemen’s Association, Red Knights Chapter 13, Newton Moose Lodge, Newton VFW, Sussex County Fire Services, Associate Member of Stillwater Fire Department, New Jersey Fireman’s Home, and Yellow Frame Church.
Lenny was a man of many hobbies, he loved fishing with friends in Costa Rica, enjoyed exploring the open road on his motorcycle, hunting with the gun club, gardening, feeding the wildlife in his backyard, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Lenny’s greatest passion was for muscle cars, and he won numerous trophies in Car Shows for his Model A and ’68 GTX. His GTX was one of his most prized possessions, which was featured on the front of Good Guys magazine. It took him 10 years to refurbish, and he kept it spotless ever since.
Lenny also had a love for traveling; he had been on over 30 cruises and just recently checked Alaska off his bucket list.
Along with his parents, Lenny was predeceased by his son, Leonard Lee, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Donna Ferrari; his daughter, Melissa Boyer (Douglas); his granddaughters, Danica, Alexis and Samantha Boyer; his grandson, Benjamin Lockburner; his brother, Ron Ferrari (Karen); and his nephews, Christopher (Kaylee) and Matthew (Molly.)
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 9am to 2pm at The Green Township Fire House, 243 Kennedy Rd, Greendell, NJ 07839. A Funeral Service will begin at 2pm at the fire house. A burial with Military Honors to follow at Tranquility Cemetery, Maple Lane, Green Township, NJ 07821.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lenny’s honor to The Green Township Fire House, 901 Hillcrest Rd, Newton, NJ 07860, to help refurbish the Hahn Fire Truck.
