Lois was the daughter of the late Bruno C. Hennings and Madelene P. Hennings of PA; she was also predeceased by her husband, Earl David in 1983, she died on what would have been his 90th birthday. In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was predeceased by three brothers, Karl, Bruno and Daniel Theodore.
Lois is survived by two loving daughters, Earlene L. Kunkle of Grand Prairie, Texas and Andrea L. Kunkle of Newton, New Jersey; her brother, Homer of Scotrun, Pennsylvania; her sister, Abbie G. Faircloth of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her brother-in-law, Joseph Kunkle and his wife, Betty, of Kunkletown, Pennsylvania; as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved feline grandchildren and her dear friends, Cheryl and Heaven.
Lois was an office worker in her younger years and later waitressed part-time. She also worked as an elevator operator and helped care for the elderly. Lois was a Jehovah’s Witness for 73 years. She would often preach her message about the Kingdom or want to debate about creation, whether you wanted to hear it or not. She had a strong faith and developed many friendships within her congregation.
Lois was a homemaker for 56 years in the house she loved on Grand Avenue in Newton, where she raised her family. She never had a clothes dryer or air conditioner in the house; she always hung her laundry and used fans, windows and trees to stay cool. She loved her trees, most of them planted by her late husband. She spent the past 5 years at Barn Hill Nursing Home always longing to come back home to Grand Avenue. Lois always was concerned for her neighbors, even during her time at Barn Hill; something we should all think about.
As per her wishes, Lois will be cremated and laid next to her husband in Paradise Township, Swiftwater, Pennsylvania.
Lois’ hope is to come back to life on a paradise Earth as talked about in the Bible. Where there will be no more crying, pain, suffering or death. We will see our dead loved ones again in a grand reunion and enjoy everlasting life. The Bible states that in that day “the desert will blossom like the rose.” She and her late husband liked a verse in the song “The Rose” it says, “The seed that with the sun’s love in the spring becomes the rose.” We look forward to seeing her again someday if and when God puts his plan into fruition on his time table. We won’t walk through the valley of the shadow of death anymore, we will live life without end at last.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She also is survived by one estranged daughter, Honey-L.
