Lois was born on July 12, 1936 in Newton, NJ to the late Clarence and Jessie Titman. She grew up in Baleville area of Hampton Township before settling in Montague 61 years ago. She graduated Newton High School in 1955 and went on to work for United Telephone Co., Branchville National Bank and Joybar Travel. Lois was a dedicated member of the Baleville Congregational Church since 1947, on the deacon board for over 50 years, and ran the Baleville Cemetery Board. She lived a very full life; she was known for running the roads, all her great meals, gardening, traveling around the world, and she loved a good casino or racetrack. To know her is to love her. Lois was a mother to many, always visiting those she cared for and known for her positive outlook on life. She was someone you could count on; she had such an uplifting spirit. She will be missed by all those who knew her.
Lois' greatest love was her family. Nothing gave her more pleasure than her family. She is survived by her children, George Zitone and his wife Joann, Lesley Olson and her husband Jeff and Glenda Salerno and her husband Marc; her grandchildren, Joseph Zitone and his wife Lauren, Heather Zitone, Kylie Salerno and Adam Salerno; her great-grandchildren, Amelia and Joey Zitone and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, Lois was predeceased by Joseph Zitone.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, NJ. A memorial service will be held on Saturday 11AM, March 26, 2022 at Baleville Congregational Church, 6 Church Road, Newton, NJ with interment to follow.
