Lorna R. Phipps, age 80, of Newton, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Lorna was born July 10, 1942 in Morristown, NJ . She was the daughter of the late John and Agnes ( Luce ) Alexander
She grew up and resided in Morristown prior to moving to Newton in 1966. Lorna was a Principal Docket Clerk for the County of Sussex prior to her retirement last year.
Lorna is survived by her son George J. Phipps III ( Doreen ) ; her sister Dorothy Heubner, Three grandchildren; Heather Santo, Samantha Amerman and Dominick Phipps along with seven great-grandchildren.
Lorna was preceded in death by her husband George J. Phipps Jr; her daughter Cynthia Phipps; her brother David Alexander and her sister Natalie Knipp.
A visitation for Lorna will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton, NJ 07860. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home.
Lorna will be laid to rest in The Newton Cemetery, Lawnwood Ave, Newton, NJ.
