Louis was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 20, 1939 to the late Louis and Frances (Stabile) Schnell. Louis grew up in Dover, New Jersey before settling in Newton in 1960. Prior to his retirement, he was a maintenance technician for Pfizer. Louis was a skilled mechanic and builder. He loved classic movies, radio and TV shows and he was skilled in the art of humanity. Louis was an NRA member and served as an usher at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church for many years.
Louis is survived by his brother, Gerard Schnell (Jeanine) and his nieces and nephews, Timothy Kearney (Michelle), Barbara Ziegler (Ron), Jennifer Horn (Tom), Rebecca Schnell, Kristen Schnell and Sarah Johnson (Paul). Along with his parents, Louis was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Griffith and his nephew, Terrance Kearney.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery.
