

Born on July 31, 1949, in Nuremberg, Germany, Lou moved to America when he was 10 years old. He went on to work for Bell Labs and later retired from Thor Labs of Newton. Lou dedicated many years to NJIT as a professor of engineering. He also served as assistant scoutmaster and committee chair for Scout Troop 28.
Lou was a devoted spouse, parent, and grandparent who found joy in trains, good food, and conversations. He will be remembered for his ability to tell good story, and the way he made a situation positive.
He was survived by his wife Christine and his children Allison and Christian, along with their spouses Kyle and Jessica, his extended family Colleen and Fred along with their spouses Phillip and Aimee. His grandsons, Tristian and Logan and many other extended family members who loved him very much. He was predeceased by his first wife Judith Colleypriest Eichner.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Christ Community Church in Newton, 274 Spring Street, Newton, NJ at 12:30 pm.
