Lynn Marie Rosenkrans Meyer, 67, of Sussex Borough, New Jersey passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, August 4, 2023. Lynn was born on April 17th, 1956 to McClellan “Mac” F. and Gladys E. (Nystrand) Rosenkrans in Newton, New Jersey. She grew up in Stillwater, NJ, with her brothers David and Danny. After graduating Newton High School in 1974, she went on to study horticulture at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Lynn worked as the food service director at Fairview Lake YMCA for 18 years where she mastered the art of the perfect grilled cheese. She was also an office manager for Timplex Corporation for many years before retiring.
Lynn was a free spirit that loved nature, gardening, music, and traveling. She embraced life with a joyful playfulness. Her iconic laugh and infectious smile were known by all that knew her.
Lynn was an adventurer. At the age of 3, her family traveled to Alaska and lived there for 6 months when it became the 49th state in 1959. Later in life, she road tripped to the west coast in the 1970s with her best friend Jerilyn (Snook) Bensley, returned to Alaska in 1985 to live with her brother Danny and his wife Arlene in Haines for 6 months, traveled to Kenya in 1987 for a month to visit her brother volunteering for the Peace Corps, and visited England in the late 70s with her parents. Over the years she made many trips back to Alaska, down the shore, and the “Winterberry” family farm in Nicholson, PA.
In 1994, she met the love of her life and best friend, Edward James Meyer, after being set up on a blind date by friends. Their first date was at the Stanhope House to see A Room Full of Blues and they continued to enjoy many concerts together through their 25 years of marriage- some of the highlights being the Peach Fest in Scranton, PA; Desert Trip in Indio, California; and Island Exodus in Jamaica. Music flowed through Lynn and she would dance like no one was watching any chance she could.
Nothing brought Lynn more joy than spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and nana. Lynn is survived by her beloved husband, Ed Meyer; her three daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Meyer, Leigh Ann Meisner and her husband Troy, Heather Jean Olla and her husband Shawn; her loving granddaughter Amelia Deni Meisner; her brother Danny Stephen Rosenkrans and his wife Arlene; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her brother David McClellan Rosenkrans in 2002 and parents Mac and Gladys Rosenkrans in 2008.
Lynn’s kindness and compassion was spread to her community as she was a lifetime member of the Stillwater Historical Society, a longtime friend of Bill W, and served on the Planning and Zoning Board, Department of Health, and Recreation Committee for Sussex Borough.
Lynn was passionate about helping people and had the ability to connect with anyone. The unconditional love and light that she carried in her heart will be missed immensely by all that knew her.
