

Margaret was born on September 10, 1941, in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late John and Marjorie (nee Evans) Lewis. Margaret made Stillwater, New Jersey her home in 1963 before moving to Florida in 2015.
Throughout her working life, Margaret served with dedication and quiet pride in the care of New Jersey’s public lands through the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry. Her steady commitment was evident in her years at Hopatcong State Park, where she worked for 12 years, and at Swartswood State Park, where she worked for 13 years, roles that reflected a deep respect for the places entrusted to her and the responsibilities she carried. She was also a member of the Stillwater Area Volunteer Fire Company women's auxiliary.
The beloved wife of the late William Gaal, Margaret is survived by her children, Jeffrey Gaal and his wife, Rachel and Jodie Favorite and her husband, Kenneth; her grandchildren, Justin, Kirsten, Jonathan and his wife Bryann and Mikal; her step-grandchildren, Karl and Michael, Devin and Demyan as well as her great-grandchildren, Kaleeve and Arianna. Along with her parents and husband, Margaret was predeceased by her sister, Carol Lupi in 2024.
A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2027.
