Mary was born on January 20, 1926 in Franklin to the late John and Theresa (Bauer) Tipold. She grew up in Franklin and lived in Johnsonburg before settling in Fredon. Mary earned her nursing degree at St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her retirement in 1988, she was a Registered Nurse with St Mary’s Hospital for 6 years then Newton Medical Center for 32 years.
Beyond the hospital walls, she found joy in the intricate patterns of cross-stitch and the soothing rhythm of crochet. A passionate gardener, Mary thrived in nurturing both plants and the people around. An enthusiastic reader, she loved to solve puzzles, often finding solace in the pages of a good book or the challenge of a crossword.
The beloved wife to the late Harold J. Crone, Mary is survived by her nieces and nephew, Linda Read, Judy Burd and her husband, Trevor and William Crone and his wife, April.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Saint Joseph Cemetery, 137-151 Route 206, Newton, NJ.
