Michael Edward Franzone, 26 years old passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2020 at his home in Bradner, Ohio. Although young, Michael led a full life which included so many close friends and family members who loved him so dearly. After graduating Lakota High School, he went on to Sussex County Community College in Newton NJ. Mike became Student Council President and earned his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.
Growing up in Ohio Michael enjoyed karate, little league baseball, cross country, and track and field. As a young adult Michael got involved within his community. He was an Assistant Coach for Newton Soccer, a Girl Scout Brother, helped with Pass It Along, and he was so incredibly proud to be involved and a member of the CLEAR Program.
Mike appreciated spending time with his friends and coworkers, enjoyed listening to music, playing his video games and most of all helping others. What meant the most to Mike was his family especially his three sisters – they were his world. Mike was a positive influence on everyone he came in contact with. Mike will always be remembered as a beautiful, selfless, and kindhearted soul with a smile that warmed the heart and lit up a room.
Although we are not ready to say goodbye to our son, brother, and friend we know he is in a better place looking down upon us. Mike is saying "Don’t cry for me, I am truly happy with all our family and friends here in heaven. I will be here waiting for you when it’s your time. Don’t rush. Enjoy your life. I love you all."
Michael is survived by his father and stepmother Steven and Michelle Franzone of Newton NJ; his mother Kimberly Graham of Bradner OH; his sisters Ashley and Kaitlyn Graham and Ariel Franzone; his Grandmother Esther Franzone; his Grandfather Michael Keller; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. He preceded in death by his Grandfather Nicholas Franzone and Grandmother Maryellen Keller.
Michael’s journey led him to find recovery in Sussex County, New Jersey. Michael shared his recovery openly and cared deeply for friends on the same path. In lieu of flowers, we believe Michael would appreciate family and friends donating to the programs where he volunteered, helping others recover at Center for Prevention and Counseling (CLEAR), 61 Spring Street, Newton NJ 07860 or call 844-722-5327.
