Nancy was born in Passaic, NJ, and spent many years in Sussex County before settling in Pine Brook. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Montclair State University. Throughout her varied career, her deep love for animals remained constant, ultimately leading her to her most recent role as the Veterinary Practice Manager at VCA Eagle Rock Animal Hospital in West Orange.
A woman of profound artistic spirit, Nancy often found beauty in the world around her and sought to capture it in every way she could. Her love for nature was boundless, and she found joy in the traditional, simple, and quiet moments of life. Whether she was painting a landscape, photographing the delicate details of a flower, or tending to her garden, Nancy expressed her deep connection to the natural world through her art and her actions.
For many years, she raised sheep and developed a passion for all things wool, eagerly sharing her knowledge and expertise with others. She was a former leader of the 4H Sussex Shepherds sheep club and found great joy in creating with her hands.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Margaret Hreha. She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Coloccia and Victoria Coloccia; her son-in-law, Andrew Esposito; and her sister, Margaret Hreha.
Services are private under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to Eleventh Hour Rescue, https://ehrdogs.networkforgood.com/ from where she gave several dogs loving homes over the years.
