Nancy was born in Plainfield, NJ on July 13, 1933 to the late Clinton and Helen (Lewandowski) Grove.
Nancy grew up in Westfield and moved to Fredon 65 years ago. She was first and foremost a wonderful mother to six children. She dedicated herself to their upbringing and well-being. Nancy provided the welcoming atmosphere at the Malone house that was greatly appreciated by so many. Nancy also worked as a real estate agent in Newton and a nurse’s aide in Andover, where she was much loved. Nancy was a talented artist and pianist. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, painting, hooking rugs, was an avid reader and loved watching Jeopardy!. Nancy was an excellent cook who happily shared her creations with others. She inspired a love of nature and music among all of her children. She particularly loved trips to Georgian Bay, Ontario where the family vacations far from the bustle of civilization.
Nancy is survived by her children, Steven (Susan) Malone, Wendy (Steve) Hofmann, Jill (Rod Goodson) Malone, Margo Malone, Kevin (June) Malone and Christopher Malone; her grandchildren, Lonnie Hofmann, Haley Malone, Jessie Malone Friedman and Carrie Malone Friedman; her siblings, Judy Koch and Clint Grove; her nieces, Susan Childers, Nanci Speer and Heather Grove; her nephews, Peter Churchill and Andy Koch; her ex-husband, Michael Malone and her beloved longtime companion, Bill Kersten. She will be dearly missed by all.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5-6 on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, NJ. A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m.
There will also be multiple Celebrations of Life for Nancy this summer in Georgian Bay, Ontario.
