Raquel was born on July 30, 1939 in Uruguay. One of Raquel's most notable achievements was making the huge move from Uruguay to NYC and earning a USA citizenship, all while raising a family. She was active in church by volunteering whenever she could. She enjoyed knitting, cooking empanadas & milanesas, observing wildlife in gardens, watching her children and grandchildren grow-up, eating ice cream, and watching her favorite Spanish shows. She also enjoyed spending time during holidays with her family. Raquel will be missed as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
The beloved wife to the late Pedro Oquendo, Raquel is also survived by her children, Maria Corleto, Analia Martinez, and Jorge Martinez and his wife Blanca; her grandchildren, Joseph Corleto and his wife Stephanie DeLaOsa, Christopher Corleto and his wife Lalida, Korina Campos, Matthew Diaz, Jorge Luis Martinez, and Santiago Martinez.
All services will be held privately at a later date.
