Robert was born May 1, 1938, in Orange, NJ, to the late George Heron and Anne Heron.
A proud member of the US Air Force, Robert served on active duty during the Vietnam War, achieving the high rank of Technical Sergeant. During his military career, Robert earned both the air force service longevity award ribbon and the air force good conduct medal, with 4 oak leaf clusters for each—honors that reflected a steady commitment to duty, discipline, and service.
Robert was married to his beloved wife, Beverly Heron, and lived in Sparta, New Jersey, for the last 46 years. He also found enjoyment and quiet companionship in the game of golfing.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Heron; his son, Scott Heron; his daughter, Robin Drobish; and Robert also leaves behind his four beloved grandchildren and six beloved great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, George Heron, and his mother, Anne Heron.
Final interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington.
