Roger Lee Swinson, Sr.

Roger was born and raised in Goldsboro, NC and has been a Sussex County resident since 1978. He was a dedicated worker at Newton Memorial Hospital for over 40 years holding various positions throughout his tenure including Patient Advocate, Emergency Room Registrar, Patient Transporter as well as Supervisor of Housekeeping. Roger was held in high regard among his colleagues.

Roger was a member of the Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Franklin, NJ and had a fond love for martial arts. He was a people person and found great joy in interacting with people from all walks of life. Roger held his family very close to his heart.

Roger was predeceased by his mother, Carrie Mae Jones ; his son, Roger Lee Swinson, Jr.; and his brothers, Lee Thomas Jones and Walter Swinson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joy Swinson; his sons, Quincy Swinson, Antonial Swinson and Shawn Blair; his daughter, Michelle Swinson; and his grandchildren, Erin Downes, Joshua Sheldon, Antonial Swinson Jr., Marcus Swinson, Kyle Swinson, Brandon Christy, Rosalynn Swinson, Saniya Swinson and Baby Joy Swinson.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 3 pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ, followed by a Funeral Service at 3 pm.
