Sandra Coryn Johnson

Sandra Coryn Johnson, 79, of Lafayette, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2026 in Morristown, NJ, surrounded by her devoted husband Peter, son Justin, daughter Jessica, and daughter in law Dana.

Sandra, or “Sandy,” was born on August 12, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to Victor and Mabel Morch. She grew up in Brooklyn, graduated from high school, and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Hunter College in NYC. Sandra worked as a nurse in the Psychiatric unit of Bellevue Hospital in NYC and then for the VA hospital system of NY, eventually transferring to the Lyons VA hospital in New Jersey. She was married to the love of her life, Peter Johnson on April 17, 1976, and they celebrated 50 years of wedded bliss this year. After becoming a mother, she resigned from her nursing work to become a stay - at - home mom. She was completely satisfied remaining in this role the rest of her life.

Sandra was a vibrant, loving, and caring woman who loved to laugh. She and Peter raised their children going to church regularly, reading the Bible, and keeping Christ in their hearts. In their free time, they loved to travel with the kids and loved spending summers and many more weekends throughout the school years at their beach house in Sea Isle City, NJ. In her later years, Sandra, along with her husband Peter, loved to travel by themselves or with friends. She loved to socialize and eat meals together with family and close friends, whether out or at home. Her face always lit up with her beautiful blue eyes and warm smile when anyone came to visit. She loved singing and music and would always sing the birthday song to her loved ones. She loved going to concerts, shopping, and having phone conversations, especially with her daughter Jessica. In her free time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching the Weather Channel, and had a deep appreciation for God’s creation. She was content sitting outside, watching the birds and various other animals, and feeling the breeze and sunshine. She later received great joy from spending time with her two precious granddaughters, Madison and Olivia. She simply adored them and received great pleasure from just holding and hugging them, watching them play, and hearing about their accomplishments or adventures. Sandra was a deeply loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Peter, son and daughter in law, Justin and Dana Johnson; daughter and son in law, Jessica and Thomas Kraus, and granddaughters Madison and Olivia Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Mabel Morch.

A viewing will be held at Smith - McCracken in Newton, NJ on Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 4-7pm. A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at the same location on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend and share memories if they desire.
