I've known Scott since high school. He sat next to me in freshmen earth science. He wore an old faded jean jacket everyday that reeked of smoke since he was out in the smoking circle a lot:) I'd be trying to understand all the teacher was laying down in class, taking notes and all while Scott just sat there doing these amazing doodles. I remember a really detailed superman. He had a great hand for drawing! I remember once the teacher called on him with a question to try to bust him for so obviously not paying attention. I thought, "oh that's a tough one".
Scott looked up, answered the question perfectly then went back to his drawing. Classic Scott Knabb. I would see and talk music with him when he came out to see the high school band I was in, Old Crow, and then later in life I would see him at at the shows of my later band From Good Homes or my solo shows.
I always loved talking with Scott. We'd have thoughtful, interesting and animated talks. And it was always nice to see his smiling face in the crowd. When I get to gig again after this pandemic stuff is over I will certainly be missing that big sweet smile of his out in the crowd!
