Suzanne was born on October 22, 1937 in Brunswick, ME to the late Joseph R. and Lorraine E. (Savoie) Lavallee. Sue was raised in Brunswick, ME and lived there until she married. She met her best friend and the love of her life, William R. Colville while he was stationed at the Brunswick Naval Air Base, and married on May 30, 1958. They were married for over 64 1/2 years, and have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
Sue loved her travel as a Navy wife, relocating to multiple places. She and the family lived in MA, CA, HI, ME, as well as Newfoundland, Canada. While raising three young children, sometimes alone while Bill was deployed, Sue found time to sew, bake, knit, reupholster furniture, and volunteer. She belonged to several bowling leagues and was very involved in various Navy Wives’ Clubs, supporting and mentoring other wives, especially while their husbands were deployed for six months. Also, Sue was a long- time volunteer for the American Red Cross.
After Bill retired from the Navy, Sue and her family moved to Lake Tranquility in Green Township, where they lived from 1973 to 2019. In 1978, Sue went to work for the Travelers’ Insurance Company and retired as a Supervisor after more than 25 years.
Whenever possible, Sue always returned to her hometown for reunions with St. John’s Grammar School and Brunswick High School to meet up with a large group of her cherished lifelong childhood friends. She loved spending time with family and friends, hosting many large summer cookouts and holiday gatherings. She enjoyed wine tasting, cooking, baking, making homemade pizza and gardening and had many talents including knitting, crocheting, and counted cross-stitch.
Suzanne is survived by her caring children, Patricia Ferguson and husband Robert, Michael Colville and wife Lorraine, and Catherine Edwards and husband Daniel and her cherished grandchildren, Allison, Zachary, Matthew, David, Hannah, Max and Zane. Along with her parents, Sue is predeceased by her beloved husband Bill who passed away this past December.
