Dr. Valentin was born on August 21, 1932, in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, Philippines to the late Arturo and Tekla Corpus. He pursued his dream of becoming a dentist earning his degree before being recruited to New York City to practice his profession. Prior to his retirement, he worked in research at Columbia University where he and his team made a significant impact in the advancement of treatments for Parkinson’s disease.
He lived in Manhattan in his early professional years, eventually moving to Teaneck where he resided for over 25 years. Upon retiring, he moved to Nanuet, NY before settling in Florida. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Valentin was a founding member of the Filipino American Society of Teaneck (FAST), fostering a strong sense of community andcultural pride among Filipinos in the area. He was a devoted family man, always prioritizing time spent with his loved ones.
The beloved husband to the late Dr. Emilia Corpus, Valentin is survived by his children, Valentin Corpus (Rissa), Vida Cuccurullo (Anthony) and Vaughn Corpus (Daphne); his grandchildren: Brian, Vaughn, Joseph, Dylan, Maxine, Angus and Emma, and his siblings: Carlito Corpus and Mita Añis. He was predeceased by his other siblings: Remedios Guiam, Epifanio Corpus, Elisa Feliciano, and Rudolfo Corpus.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 203 Swartswood Rd, Newton, NJ 07860. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
