Alexander Harrison Blair

BLAIR, Alexander 'Alex' - The family of Alex Blair announces his peaceful passing at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, on Sunday January 21, 2024 at the age of 95. Cherished and devoted husband of 70 years to Jean (nee Hunter). Beloved father of Alan (Ada) Blair, Carol (Len), McRae and Janice Hines (Pete Chernecki). Cherished grandpa to Ryan and Tayna Blair. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Ella Blair, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents John and Ann Blair and brother Jack Blair (2022). Born on June 24, 1928 in Airdrie, Scotland, he followed his girlfriend Jean and immigrated to Niagara Falls, Ontario in 1952. Alex and Jean were married on June 20, 1953 and raised their three children. He worked as a machinist in Niagara Falls, NY until his retirement. A life well lived, Alex and Jean traveled extensively and saw a good part of the world bringing back wonderful memories. Alex was an avid bowler up until October 2023. He loved to play golf, badminton and cards. He enjoyed socializing with his friends and family and his shot of scotch. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Friday January 26, 2024 from 10 am to 11 am. A Chapel Service will be celebrated at 11 am, at the Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
