Predeceased by his much beloved wife Jean (McPherson). He is survived by his sisters-in-law Joan McPherson of Burlington and Wendy McPherson of Niagara Falls. He will be very sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Irene Barrowman, brother Jack Barrowman, sister-in-law Lillian (Lily Barrowman), niece Pauline Barrowman and brothers-in-law, Allan McPherson and John McPherson.
Although Andy and Jean had no children of their own, Andy followed the lives of his nieces and nephews with great interest. Andy came to Canada in 1949 following his years of service to his country during WW II. He married Jean in 1961 and worked for more than 30 years at Ferranti-Packard in St. Catharines, Ontario, as an Engineering Technician until his retirement. In his leisure time, Andy loved to study maps and tell stories of his youth. He built his own home, and enjoyed his travel adventures. Andy loved his garden, and in his younger years, loved to work on and ride his motorcycle. For many years Andy was a snowbird and spent winters in Florida.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Willoughby Manor and retirement community who kept Andy happy, safe and healthy over the past 3 years. A very special thank you to Dr. Che and Nurse Donna for their ongoing care and support. Sincere thanks to the caring staff on Brock (Greater Niagara General) and the palliative care team at Niagara Health for their compassionate end of life care.
