After a struggle with Alzheimer's Disease, Barbara passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 18, 2022 at Valley Park Lodge. Beloved wife of John for 66 years. Dearly loved mother of Susan, Jim (Barbara-Anne) and Carol (David). Loved grandmother of Alison, Jamison and Elianna. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Audrey Dymott, her brothers Edward (1948), Ronald (1958), and sister Doreen Murray (2021). Survived by her brother in law Frank Murray.
Barbara loved her family, accompanying John on excursions to many motorcycle and aviation shows, and was seen at all her grandchildren's activities. John and Barbara were also avid campers, travelling from coast to coast.
Even though she only had a short stay at Valley Park Lodge, we would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Joanna Hill and the wonderful, caring staff. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. We would also like to thank the PSWs who supported her at home prior to Valley Park Lodge. It was greatly appreciated.
In keeping with Barbara's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service (by invitation only) from Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel (905-354-5614) can be viewed after 1 pm on Friday, April 29, 2022. To honour the memory of Barbara's life, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Residents Council at Valley Park Lodge (re. Palliative Care) would be much appreciated by the family.
