DOIG, William 'Bill' - Passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday January 27, 2022 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of 65 years to Barbara (nee Gilmore). Cherished father of Steven (Jeanette) Doig, Terri McNeil, Michael Doig, son-in-law Robert Nuss, loving grandfather of Sean (Robin) Doig, David Doig, Lorraine Doig (Marcus), Erin Maclean, Sarah Doig, Sidney Doig, Nolan McNeil. He will be fondly remembered by family in Glasgow, Scotland whom he loved so much. Predeceased by his parents Robert Doig, Susan (nee Hughes), daughter Donna Nuss (January 20, 2022). Recently united with his son-in-law Doug McNeil (February 1, 2022). The family wishes to express their gratitude, from the depths of their hearts, to ParaMed, Karen and Tammy and Dr. Manser, for their unbelievable care of Bill. Mr. Doig retired from Ferranti-Packard, after many years of service. He enjoyed playing pool, was an avid golfer (it never rained on the golf course). The best dad and grandpa, we are comforted knowing he has been reunited with his loving daughter, Donna and son-in-law, Doug. Fly high, Dad! Cremation has taken place. Respecting the restrictions of COVID-19 (see thebao.ca), friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Saturday February 5, 2022 from 12 to 2 pm.
