Candida (Fragnito) Menechella

After a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease, Candida passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on February 19th, 2026 at the age of 86. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she brought warmth and a loving smile to those who knew her.

Predeceased by her husband Mario to whom she shared a beautiful life for 52 years. She was a loving mother to Maria (Tony) Scaringi and a cherished Nonnina to Nadia, Joe (Kathy), Anthony and Julia (Leo). She also welcomed the beauty of being a bisnonna to Marcello and Sienna.

The youngest of five siblings, she is predeceased by her brothers Cosimo (Concetta) and Raffaele (Elena) Fragnito. She is also predeceased by her loving sisters Grazia (Alberto) Addabbo and Nicolina Fragnito. She is survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Pellegrino Fragnito, Phyllis & Luciano DiCienzo, Michelina Menechella, Victor (Lina) and Gina Menechella and pre-deceased by brothers-in-law Giovanni and Cosimo Menechella. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Candida’s family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the staff of Eventide Home for their love and care in her final years and up to her passing.

Visitation will take place at Patterson Funeral Home (6062 Main Street, Niagara Falls) on Monday, February 23rd from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at Patterson Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 24th at 11:00 am followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery (4501 Stanley Avenue, Niagara Falls).
