EWART, Carol Ann (nee Dominski) - Peacefully, holding hands with her husband and children, Carol passed away on Sunday January 28, 2024 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of 56 years to her high school sweetheart Gary. Cherished mother of Laurie (Craig) McLean, Geoff Ewart and loving grandmother of Tatum, Carlyn, Kadence and Makenna. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Gail Dennis and Susan Dominski; also her aunt Carol Flight and uncle Mark Edwards. Loving aunt of Kathy (Karl) Kohtala, Brian (Jessalyn) Dennis, Sandy Dennis, Patricia Dominski (Blair Stanczuk) and Christopher (Janelle) Dominski. She will also be missed by many cousins and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Phyllis (nee Mohan) Dominski, and her brother Michael Dominski. Carol was famous for her pierogies, cabbage rolls and ability to create a gourmet feast out of whatever was on hand. She always opened her home and kitchen to anyone, especially during the holidays. She was incredibly creative and helped start and run Laurie Ewart’s Danceworks. A miracle worker with dance costumes, she could make and alter anything. Carol was the smiling face everyone saw when they came in and was the loudest cheerleader in the audience. She enjoyed music, old movies, travelling and meeting new people. She especially loved being at her happy place - the family cottage in Muskoka. So many fun times were spent there with family and friends and her presence will be missed every summer. And Carol was known for her legendary laugh. It ranged from a silent wheeze to a head-tossing cackle to her famous snort. The things Carol cherished most were her husband, children, granddaughters and her wide circle of friends. She loved, was loved and will be missed beyond measure. Our deepest gratitude to everyone at ParaMed - Ari and Kayse, Carol’s incredible nurses Iran and Tanya (you’re family now), and all the PSWs, especially Vivian, for their compassionate care during the past several months. Also thanks to Matt, Paul and the team at ProResp for their kindness and attentive service. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Sunday February 11, 2024 from 2 to 5 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of her life will be held at 5 pm at the funeral home. In memory of Carol, memorial contributions may be made to The Scleroderma Society of Ontario.
