Claudette was a dedicated elementary school teacher and began her career with what is currently the Niagara Catholic District School Board in 1968. She taught at several schools in the Niagara region and Port Colborne including French Immersion from 1978-1982 after which time she became a resource teacher. She retired from Sacred Heart School in 1999 and was held in high regard by her students and faculty, many of whom she maintained lasting friendships. She was also a devout parishioner and Eucharist Minister at Our Lady of the Scapular Church for many years. Her passions included gardening, home decorating, walking and enjoying lunches with family and friends.
Many thanks to the staff at Chapel Heights Retirement home for their extraordinary care throughout these last three years. Claudette loved the musical entertainment, numerous art activities, bingo, and gardening. Socializing was key to her happiness and she was surrounded by kindness and support from residents and staff alike.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hetherington and Deans Funeral Chapel. In keeping with Claudette’s wishes, cremation and a private interment has taken place. Farewell sweet lady, may you find peace and joy in the warm embrace of our saviour and those who have gone before you.
