David 'Johnnie' Walker

WALKER, David 'Johnnie' - Passed away at Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie, on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the age of 88.  Survived by his former wife Jenny, his children; Ben Walker (Marya) and Claire MacSweyn (Jay), his grandchildren; Sarah, Sydney and Tyler and his sister Binns (Ted) in England.  Predeceased by his parents and his sister Patricia.  Johnnie led a full life from a very young age as a member of the British Royal Air Force, working for Canadair in Montreal and retired in 1995 from Fleet Industries, where he worked on a space shuttle part for the Canada Arm.  He loved his family and spent most of his retirement years at the Boathouse in Chippawa and photographing animals and birds in the Niagara Region with friends.  Special appreciation goes to the staff at St. Catharines General and Douglas Memorial Hospitals.  Cremation has taken place.  Arrangements entrusted to PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls.  A private 'Celebration of Life' is being planned for a later date.  In honour of Johnnie and the amazing hospital staff, donations may be made directly to The Niagara Health Foundation.  Online condolences at www.pattersonfuneralhome.com
