Deanna was born in St. Catharines, ON, the only child of Ivalo and Thomas Williamson and the beloved granddaughter of E. May Sills Williamson (1959). Most of her life was lived in Niagara Falls, ON where she attended Simcoe Street School and Loretto Academy. Later, she studied with the Kelly Business Institute and became a legal secretary for the Law Offices of Cohen, Swados, Wright, Hanifin, Bradford & Brett in Niagara Falls, NY. She retired in 1996, after 38 years. In November of 1996, she married Alan William Campbell Tustin and they settled into a cozy home in the Stamford area of Niagara Falls, ON.
Deanna was an intrepid traveler, with scarcely a part of the globe she didn't explore. Alan and Deanna shared this spirit of adventure, and enjoyed trips to Ireland, Bermuda, Russia, and Costa Rica.
In the quiet moments, Deanna enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, quilt making, and lace making. She was known for her fine craftsmanship. A lifelong and devoted parishioner of Christ Church Anglican in Niagara Falls, ON, her fellowship with the Chi Rho Group and choir was a treasured part of her life. Thanks to the church, and congregation for remembrance of Deanna in prayer. The family also thanks the nurses, doctor, personal support workers, recreation and cleaning staff at Bella for ensuring a safe home for Deanna these last 8 years. The care and compassion to "brighten her day" was valued and appreciated!
To honour Deanna, in lieu of flowers, a donation to Christ Church Memorial Fund, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), or the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Ontario SPCA) would be appreciated and can be done through the links below.
