Domenico Tropea

Beloved husband, soulmate, and love of his life to the late Giuseppina (née De Biase), who passed away in 2009, Domenico is now reunited with her in heaven. He was a proud and loving father to Frank (Sabina), Gino (Kerri), and Anthony (Michele). He was a cherished Nonno to Olivia, Anthony, and Joshua, who always brought a smile and joy to his heart.

He is survived by his brother Vittorio Tropea (Italy); his sister-in-law Joanne Scarpino; his brother-in-law Joseph De Biase (Antoinette); his sister-in-law Anna Tropea; and his many nieces and nephews locally, in the United States, Italy, and Argentina.

He was predeceased by his parents, Anselmo and Francesca Tropea; his brothers Gaspare, Francesco, and Luigi; and his sister Angelina.

Domenico worked in the yacht manufacturing industry as a carpenter for over 30 years and retired at the age of 65. He enjoyed watching his favorite sports, hockey and soccer. His favorite hockey team was the Toronto Maple Leafs, followed by his favorite soccer team, Juventus.

He loved traveling to his hometown of Sambiase (Calabria), Italy, where he spent time with his brothers, nieces, nephews, and extended family. When home during the summer months, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, which brought him great joy, as he loved the outdoors. In the fall, during wine-making season, he proudly crafted his own wine, a tradition he enjoyed sharing with his son Frank, passing along his wisdom and love for the craft.

A special thank you goes out to all the PSW workers and nursing staff at Bella Chippawa Creek Residence, who took such loving care of our father. A heartfelt thank you as well to the private nurses—especially Carmel, Brenda, and Jane—who attended to him at home, along with the many private PSWs.

Visitation will take place at Patterson Funeral Home Ltd., located at 6062 Main St., Niagara Falls, Ontario, L2G 5Z9, Canada, on February 11, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at the same venue on February 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The committal service will follow at Fairview Mausoleum, 4764 Portage Rd, Niagara Falls, Ontario, L2E 6A8, Canada, on February 12, 2026, from 12:15 pm to 12:40 pm.
