Domenico Vescio

VESCIO, Domenico - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday September 2, 2019 at Woodlands of Sunset in Welland, where he received exceptional care, at the age of 87. Domenico was born in the village of Conflenti, Catanzaro, Italy, August 22, 1932. Beloved husband of 65 years to Teresa Stranges Vescio. Cherished father of Pina (Todd) Page of Niagara Falls. Nonno Domenico will be greatly missed by his grandsons Alexander and Andrew Page, whom he loved with all his heart and soul. Brother of Luigi (Caterina) Vescio and Angela (Luigi) Stranges. Brother-in-law of Filippina Vescio, Carlo (Rose) Stranges, John (Maria) Stranges, and Maria Garofalo, all of Niagara Falls. Brother-in-law of Rosina (Benito) Stranges of Italy. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy, and Australia. Predeceased by his son Giuseppe 'Joe' Vescio, his parents Angelo Giuseppe and Giuseppina Vescio, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Raffaela and Luigi Stranges, his sister Giovanna (Antonio) Serra, sister Paolina (Pietro) Vaccaro, brother Benito Vescio, and brother-in-law Antonio (Pasqualina) Stranges. Domenico was very proud to be a celebrated handyman with Barrett Concrete for over 28 years, where he was known as "Domenic the Idea". His friends and family could always count on him to lend a hand. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Vigil Prayers will be celebrated at 8:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Scapular Church on Friday at 10 am. Rite of Entombment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum. In memory of Domenico, donations may be made to Woodlands of Sunset or to The Alzheimer Society Niagara Foundation, and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
