Dorothy Ann Doyle (R.N.)

DOYLE, Dorothy Ann (R.N.) - Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Wednesday November 9, 2016 at the age of 84.  Cherished daughter of the late John Joseph Doyle and Helen Rose (Chace).  Dear sister of John Hubert Doyle and his wife Joyce of Brampton, Ont.  Devoted Aunt of JoAnne Weaver (Kevin), Helene Smart (David) and Sean Doyle (Ellen) and proud Great Aunt of eleven.  Dorothy’s life was lovingly enriched by two very special people, Ron Roels and Mary Aird.  Dorothy was a lifetime active parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church and is a past president of the Greater Niagara Big Sister Association.  Dorothy was incredibly proud of her nursing career.  She was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Hamilton, class of 1955.  Her continued education included a Diploma in Nursing Education and Administration from Western Ontario and a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lakehead University.  She held various positions at GNGH School of Nursing, Mack School of Nursing, St. Catharines and Niagara College, Welland.  She will be forever remembered by all for her distinctive Irish red hair.  Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Sunday 2 to 4 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 am at St. Patrick's Church.  Private interment will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.  In memory of Dorothy, memorial contributions may be made to The ONE Foundation (GNGH Site), and would be appreciated by her family.  Online condolences at www.pattersonfuneralhome.com
