

Passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls on Monday September 20th 2010 in his 91st year. Predeceased by his parents Edmund and Emily Milton and son-in law of the late Joseph and Margaret Rivers. Beloved husband of the late Doris Helen (1983) and Edna Margaret Rivers (1995). Dear father of Gail Delotis (late husband Anthony 2005) and Joseph Milton (Theresa nee:Moccio) Predeceased by his sister Ada Conway (Howard), brother of June Conway (her late husband Wally) brother of George(Jean) brother of Marion Carswell (Barry) Brother-in-law of the late Al (Nora) Rivers, Edward (Edna) Rivers and Audrey Wilson. Brother–in-law of Michael (Helen) Zavits and the late Irene Storey. Edmund is survived by his grandsons Kevin Farewell, Wade Milton (Peta-Gay) and the late infant grandson Michael Milton (1973) Great –Grandfather of Cole and Hope Milton.
Edmund will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. A special Great uncle to Caleb, Keegan and Cassandra Zavits.
Edmund was a Canadian Army Staff Sgt and had the first military wedding in ranks after WWII was declared at St. Lukes Anglican Church in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario on September 23,1939 and honorably served in the Canadian Army during world War 11.
He was employed by the Chromium Mining and Smelting Corporation in Sault Ste Marie before moving to Niagara Falls (1956). He was employed by Strategic Udy Metallurgy Co.(1956-1972) Canadian Carborundum Corp. and General Abrasives as a maintenance manager until his retirement in September 1984. Edmund was a member of the Masonic Centennial Lodge #679 in Niagara Falls, the Loyal Order of The Moose and The Elks Lodge in Niagara Falls and Sault Ste Marie.

At the request of the family, cremation has taken place. Graveside internment will take place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens on September 27th at 11:00 a.m. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family and may be made through Hetherington and Deans Funeral Chapel.
