Elizabeth Jane (McCann) Smith

Passed away peacefully at Gilmore Lodge Retirement Home on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the age of 89. Elizabeth was predeceased by her devoted husband, Albert Smith (1998). She is survived by her loving children: Linda Bird (Kenneth), Dennis (Anna), and Ron, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Michelle (Gary), Alexander, Danielle (Michael), Sage, and Haley. Elizabeth was also a proud great-grandmother to Bradley, Alexis, Jared, Jordan, Emma, Taylor, Brooke, and Reilly. She leaves behind her dear sister Shirley, nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth dedicated her life to serving her community as a crossing guard and as the head of housekeeping at Best Western. Her great love for cats will always be remembered.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Gilmore Lodge for their kindness and compassion towards Elizabeth and her family.

A visitation will take place on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 12 PM to 1 PM at Hetherington and Deans Funeral Home and Chapel (5176 Victoria Ave., Niagara Falls, ON). A chapel service will follow at 1 PM, with a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery (4501 Stanley Ave., Niagara Falls, ON). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Elizabeth to a charity of your choice
