SMITH, Gary - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at Millennium Trail Manor on Saturday June 29, 2024 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of nearly 46 years to Lucy (nee DeMizio). Cherished father of Joseph (Sandra), Stephen and loving grandfather of Ciara, Alexa. Son-in-law of Pasqualina DeMizio, and the late Giuseppe DeMizio. Loving brother-in-law of Carmen (Loretta) DeMizio, Mary and the late Tony Martins, Edward (Marianne) DeMizio, Rosalie (Peter) Filice, Gino (Stacy) DeMizio. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Gary is predeceased by his parents Stephen and Isabel Smith. Gary worked for many years at the Port Weller Dry Docks, as well as 25 years with General Motors Canada. He enjoyed bowling at Midtown Lanes and Cataract Lanes, and often travelled to compete in national bowling tournaments. He also enjoyed spending time Saturday nights helping work on a race car that was competing at Merrittville Speedway, as well as watching NASCAR. Gary will be remembered by his family for his expert-level maintenance of his swimming pool - always keeping it crystal clear. Cremation has taken place.
