George Menard

MENARD, George - It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of George Menard at his residence on Sunday August 31, 2025 into Heaven at the age of 95. George is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years Doreen (nee Donnelly) Menard, sons Dan Menard,  Dave (Valerie) Menard , Larry (Shari) Menard, and daughter Judi Menard, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. George is survived by his brother-in-law Brian (Sandra) Donnelly and sisters-in-law  Doris (late Vern) Chapman and Patricia Menard.  Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Maryanne (nee Gingras) Menard, brothers Nelson (late Rachel ) Menard, Eugene (late Rosalie and Albina) Menard, Rene (late Blanche) Menard, Roland Menard, Leo Menard, sister Annie (late Henry) Leblanc and in-laws Ray (Joyce) Donnelly, Vern (Marcelle) Donnelly, Vern Chapman, Arlene (Mort) Dafoe. George was born two months premature on December 4, 1929, near Strickland Ontario, in the middle of a very cold winter. He worked for Hill-Clark-Francis before starting to work an entry-level job at Spruce Falls Pulp and Paper in Kapuskasing Ontario. He worked his way up the ladder to become Superintendent of the Sulphite and Magnefite Departments. After retiring, he spent many years with his wife Doreen travelling in their motor home, then settled in Niagara Falls, Ontario. A visitation from 9:30-11:30 will be held on September 10, 2025 at PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main Street; followed by a public service at the funeral home at 11:30am as well. Afterwards will be an interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Gospel Church and would be appreciated. Online condolences at pattersonfuneralhome.com
