I am sad to learn of Connie's passing. My deepest sympathy to the Kent family. 
I had the pleasure of working with Connie on Venterspost Gold Mine in the mid 1980's.

TRIBUTE TO THE LATE GORDON KENT

I live in Cape Town, South Africa, and nineteen years ago, on my first ever visit to my daughter and her family who had emigrated to Canada, I had the great pleasure of meeting Gordon and Maria Kent - affectionately known as my, now, dearest friends, Connie and Miems.

Over the years our friendship grew and on my subsequent annual visits to Canada, I always spent time with them....getting to know them.  We would talk for hours....visit our favourite places....have lots of fun and Connie with his great sense of humour, could always make me laugh.  I loved the way he always wanted to help Miems with the cooking, and I still have to find someone who could beat Connie's scrumptious mashed potatoes!

He was a friendly, loving and caring person who was always trying to help everybody, and Miems and his grandchildren were the light of his life.

Rest in peace Connie, my dear friend.  We will miss you.  

May God grant Miems and the family the courage to cope with their great loss.
