Helen Marie Vella

VELLA, Helen 'Marie' (nee Sammut) -  Passed away peacefully at Rapelje Lodge on Thursday December 26, 2024 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late John ( 2005) and loving mother of Anne Marie Gray (Dean Bonifas), Steve and Gail Vella, Joanne and Doug Cooper. Cherished grandma of Christine Vella (Brad Hopkins), Stephanie and Paul Costante, James Gray (Michelle Aguilar), Andrew Gray (Andrea Shum), Michael Cooper (Joanna McLaughlin) and Jacqueline Cooper. Beloved great-grandmother of Adrina, Sienna, Cameron, Johnny, Kassie, Easton and Henley. She will be lovingly remembered by Anne and John Adams as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Maude (nee Bannister) Sammut, brother James Sammut and son-in-law Peter Gray. Marie was a devout Catholic, loved to travel with her husband and was extremely proud of her Maltese heritage. She enjoyed line dancing, mahjong and her years spent in Florida. Marie was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed by all of them. The family would like to thank the staff at Rapelje Lodge for their compassion and exceptional care of our Mother. Friends are invited to join the family at PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Tuesday December 31, 2024 from 11am to 1:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 pm at St. Alexander's Church 50 Pelham Town Square, Fonthill with cremation to follow. Interment will take place at Assumption Cemetery in Mississauga at a later date. In memory of Marie, memorial donations to Niagara Health Foundation (Walker Family Cancer Center) or Heart Niagara  would be appreciated by her family.
