ATHERTON, James - The suffering is over. James passed away peacefully in his sleep. He leaves his wife and best friend of 53 years Arlene (nee Leeman). Loving father of James (Lori), and Chris (Alison). Cherished grandfather of Connor, Jayme, Julia and Claire. Friend and brother of Jeff (Patti), and brother-in-law of Jean Taylor, Marie Anderson, Doris Woodruff, Elizabeth Leyland, Ann Leeman and Irene (Dave) Albers. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Dorothy. As per James' wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service has been held. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank ALS Canada and the palliative care team of St. Catharines. Also a special thank you to MaryEllen for being a great friend and neighbour.
