LEMIEUX, Jean-Marie "John" - Passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Sunday April 20, 2014 at the age of 70. He is reunited with his beloved wife Bernice who passed away on April 7, 2014. Loving step-father of Lucie (the late Bill) Brown and Mike Amyot and grandfather of Cory and Kevin Brown. Dear brother of Jack (Alice) Lemieux, Real (Teri) Lemieux, Roger (Linda) Lemieux, Guy (Virginia) Lemieux, Ghislaine (Leo) Kuijer, Monique (Tom) Andrews, Micheline Shaw, Francis (Gerry) Harvey and Diane (Dennis) Godwin and brother-in-law of Normand (Susan) Roy and Lynda (Jacques) Veilleux. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Laval and Gabrielle Lemieux. John had worked as a heavy equipment operator for Walker Industries, retiring after 37 years of service. John was active in the community having coached hockey at the novice, peewee and intermediate levels. He was also a sports convenor for the French Federation of Ontario, Past Grand-Knight of Columbus Council 925, a member of the Kinsmen Club of Canada, the Financial and Recording Secretary for the United Steelworkers Union-Local 4957 and a member of Emergency Measures Organization of Ontario. He leaves behind many good friends to cherish his memory. At John's request cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME , 6062 Main St. visiting Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Antoine de Padoue Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
