Joseph 'Papa Joe' Miszk

MISZK, Joseph 'Papa Joe' - Passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family, on Friday April 15, 2016 at the age of 92. Beloved and devoted husband of 58 years to Gertrude 'Trudy' (Rekowski) Miszk. Dearly loved father of Joe (Bernadette) and the late George Miszk and father-in-law of Brenda Miszk (Chris Wiens). Cherished Grandfather of Andrea, Joshua (Emily), Emily, Julianne, Alexa, Jarod and Savanna. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada, Poland and Germany. Predeceased by three brothers and one sister. Together with his wife and family, 'Papa Joe', as he was affectionately known, owned and operated Betty's Restaurant, which remains today as a thriving landmark in Chippawa. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and customers, but he will also be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Sacred Heart Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
