Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada on July 26, 1924, June was the youngest of two children to Harry and Pearl (Gibson) Neil. She attended Niagara Falls Collegiate Vocational Institute but left prior to graduation to work as a secretary for Cyanamid of Canada in Niagara Falls, Ontario, during World War II. She was also a member of the Canadian Red Cross Society.
June met and married the love of her life in Niagara Falls, NY in 1952. Before raising their children, she worked at Travelers Insurance in Buffalo, NY. They lived briefly in Florida before settling in Alburtis, PA, to raise their family. They retired to Wolfeboro, NH in 1993.
June raised three beautiful daughters, always encouraging them to do their best at their studies. She was a loving mother and enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren passing along her love of reading, theater, art, movies, and music. She enjoyed golf and summer lakefront holidays in her earlier years, and traveling across Canada, US, and Europe, and time at her daughter’s cottage in her later years.
She is survived by her daughters, Ramona (John) Roch of West Warwick, RI, Cynthia Davis (Timothy Carty) of Duxbury, MA, and Shari (Steven) McCusker of North Hampton, NH. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her kiddos. She will also be remembered with love by her grandchildren Daniel (Josie Roias) Roch of West Warwick, RI, Douglas (Nikki Nardolillo) Roch of Johnston, RI, Connor (John) McCusker of Methuen, MA, and Cameron of Haverhill, MA. June is predeceased by her loving husband and best friend of 65 years, Roland E. Grandin Jr., her sister Dorothy Cook and brother-in-law’s James Cook and Donald Grandin, and her nephew David Grandin. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Isabel Grandin, her nephews Andrew Grandin (Kristian Harris) and Douglas (Deborah) Grandin, all of Angola, Indiana; and her nephews Dennis (Cory Cordero) Cook of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, and Donald (Carol) Cook of Levack, Ontario, Canada; grandnephews and grandnieces.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11AM service at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada (905-354-5614) followed by a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Ontario. Family will receive guests from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
