Ken Thorne

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Ken on June 2, 2018 at the age of 53 at the GNGH. Loving husband of Anne Piper-Thorne for 32 wonderful years. Beloved father of Jonathan (Tressie) Piper and Tara Thorne (Michael Koski). Proud Granpa of Liam, Aiden, Miss Lily and Sir Percy. Survived by his parents Carl (Joyce) Thorne and June Radford, his siblings Nancy Risto, Wayne Thorne, Wendy (Al) Lackie, Bob (Sharon) Thorne, Tom Thorne and Vicky Thorne. Predeceased by his brother Frank Thorne (1993) and his brother Tim Thorne (2011). Ken will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ken worked for Cotton Inc. for 29 years. He volunteered many years with Scouts Canada and loved to be outdoors canoeing and hiking.

The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the staff at Juravinski ODS and to the staff at the GNGH Trillium Ward.

As per Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at St. Andrews United Church, 5645 Morrison St, Niagara Falls, on Saturday June 23, 2018 at 11 AM. Memorial donations to the First Niagara Scout Troop or to a charity of ones choice would be appreciated.
