Kenneth "Ken" Charles Cournoyea

Unexpectedly passed away, surrounded by his family, at GNGH, on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 83. Beloved husband for 59 years of the late Gail. Loving Dad of Derek (Susan), Darrin (Kim) and Steve (Roberta). Cherished Papa of Alyssa (Alex), Matthew, Jocelyn, Justin, Dallas, Noah, Mason, and Jillian. Survived by his sister Sharon Anslow and predeceased by 8 siblings. Ken will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends, especially Val and John Dunne.

Ken’s outgoing and jovial personality brought him to the Coach Light Restaurant and Jolly Brewer Pub on Clifton Hill for almost 30 years, excelling in a long career in hospitality. He was actively involved with Niagara Falls Minor Hockey for a large number of years even being promoted to President for a time. He had a passion and love for woodworking and was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life.

In keeping with Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 1 – 3 p.m. at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Ave. Niagara Falls. A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 3 p.m. If desired, memorial donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
