HURST, Larry - It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Larry Michael Hurst "The Fiddler" at the age of 60 after a vehicle accident on August 8th. Beloved father of Amy of Toronto and Eric of Matachewan. Dear son of Isabel and the late Vince Hurst. Loved brother of the late Mark (Eva), Ricki (Judy), Jackie, Rebecca, Ron (Jacky), Ray (Sue), and Laurie. Larry will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A graduate of the Niagara College Theatre program, Larry enjoyed a long career in the performing arts. He has performed or directed in local theatre productions for more than 40 years. Easily recognized by his towering height, Larry could often be seen somewhere in Niagara playing the banjo, guitar, fiddle or just telling a story. As a lifetime resident of the Falls, Larry descends from the original Niagara settlers including generations of local musicians. For over 20 years, he has been a mainstay as the fiddler at "Oh Canada Eh?" When not performing, or enjoying a coffee at Tim Horton's, Larry could be found expertly culling bass from the Niagara River. Friends and family are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.All are welcome to a memorial funeral service being held at the Oh Canada Eh? Theatre, Thursday August 14th at 11:00 A.M.In lieu of flowers, since Larry had no sense of smell, please support your local community theatre. On-line condolences at www.pattersonfuneralhome.com
