Maria Nella Caruso

CARUSO, Maria (nee Laneve) - Passed away peacefully at Marotta Family Hospital on Saturday May 31, 2025 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of 61 years to Francesco Caruso. Loving and devoted mother of Elisa Dana Caruso and Sara Rebecca Caruso. Dear sister of Ida Lombardi and sister-in-law of Lino Stanio and Eugenia Caruso. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews as well as the members of the Westlane Congregation. Predeceased by her parents Eugenio and Rosina (nee Ricchio) Laneve, brothers Domenico (Ediviga) Laneve, Giuseppe (Louisa) Laneve, Franco (Agata) Laneve, Margarita Stanio and brothers-in-law Rocco Lombardi, Gasparo (Herta) Caruso, Giuseppe (Maria) Caruso and sister-in-law Ortenzia Caruso. Maria was a lovely woman, known for her kindness and deep care for others. She had a heart that found joy in life's simple things-whether it was tending lovingly to her garden or watching birds with quiet wonder. A devoted and God-fearing soul, she believed with all her heart that God remembers every life and will one day bring back those who have passed, just as it is promised in God's word the Bible, John 5:28,29. Her faith gave her peace, and her warmth gave comfort to those around her. An extraordinary cook, she was especially known for her signature vermouth sponge cake-a sweet symbol of her hospitality and love. In every way she was a woman who gave of herself freely, and her memory will live on in the hearts she touched. The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses on Cardiac Unit 2B for their outstanding care and compassion. A private family viewing will be held at PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME 6062 Main Street Niagara Falls, with entombment at Fairview Mausoleum. A memorial Service will be held at Kingdom Hall at a later date.
